This residence for a family of three is located in a quiet up-market residential area just off Bangkok's vibrant Sukhumvit Road. Here, Chinese geomancy, feng shui, played a significant role in the design right from the beginning. Positions of the entrance gate, the pool and the major living spaces, for example, were determined  by a feng shui master so as to generate auspicious flow of energy throughout the house. With these particular elements in place, all the other functional spaces were thus organized correspondingly.

Since one of the functional requirements was a space for entertaining guests, both business and family related, formal sitting and dining rooms are designed to accommodate a large  number of people on a regular basis. As such the areas for formal entertaining and daily living are clearly demarcated through both space planning a[e space-defining elements, such as hidden sliding panels. In this way, the privacy of the daily living spaces is kept to the maximum.
